Very likely to be a lot of opportunities here via mods. Downstream production like meat production could help add value and increase profits.Hog sell prices should probably change by economy setting regardless but a buff in sell price would help across the board The game will tell you that you can use straw to help make manure but as you're likely to guess based on the theme of this post it's not profitable, it's harder to handle, and there's no benefit to it other than RP.Ĭhanges or Mods to look for that would help: You can get slurry! You won't get rich off of it and the way fertilization and soil health works today it doesn't make a difference vs other fertilizer sources but make sure you have a plan to use or sell it.(I have serious issues with including root crops as part of the feed ration but that's for another TED talk. For Normal and Hard its better to feed your own crops but remember you'll have additional equipment costs because of the root crop needs. You're actually money ahead doing it that way rather than feeding crops you produce yourself. If you DO want to raise pigs (it's ok, they're fun to raise!) and you're on Easy economy, you're better off just buying pig feed from the store. No matter how I run the math I cannot get that to work out as a net positive. On normal a fully grown pig will eat about $64/month in feed which means your newly born pig worth about $100 at full health cost you $256 to produce. Newly born pigs don't eat a lot but remember you have to feed the sows while they're gestating. The issue is food costs: even using the base price (meaning you're not selling your crops at an above average price) the numbers really aren't in your favor even on Hard economy. assuming you're not counting infrastructure costs and not marketing your crops well. Definitely not on Easy, Normal gets close, and Hard you'll likely break even. You're probably not making money raising pigs. While I'm in the midst of researching stuff in game but here's a couple things to know if you want to raise pigs: Unfortunately, they need lots of love from Giants still.
